1. Summary of Horizon VR glasses
2. Persona
3. Context
4. Interaction
5. Materiality
6. 3D model render
7. Final physical model
8. Product views
9. Product dimensions
10. Fabrication
11. Technology
12. Form and process
Section 1: Summary of Horizon VR glasses
Horizon VR glasses are inspired by the real estate housing experiment, which allows the user to look for houses in long distance. With the small size and lightweight characteristics, it is easy to carry around. It brings together a cork surface finishing contrasting aluminum casing. The headset has the ability to fit with different head size with adjustable strap and it is easy to hold because the smooth surface from the cork creates frictions while holding it.
Section 2: Persona
Michelle | Female | 30 year olds
Michelle works in the real estate company. Recently, she found VR view is able to guide her clients to look around the houses she sells, especially for foreign clients. Instead of actually taking them to show the real house in person, utilizing the VR glasses are able to reduce the time for busy schedule and being more efficient for both clients and Michelle herself.
Section 3: Context
Horizon VR glasses will be used for the clients and real estate manager to show the house in long distance. In this way, people are able to view the house without driving to the location and be flexiable to time consuming. Also, the small size with a simple design is understandable to use and carry around.
Section 4: Interaction
- Can be worn around their necks using the neck strap.
- Handheld on the face when holding the cork surface of rounded shape
- Aluminum front casing is easy to open by using the wood handle in the front
- Phone strap is adjustable for different thickness of phone.

Section 5: Materiality
WOOD
Cork is lightweight, stable and exhibits compressibility and moisture resistance. Its aesthetic appearance makes composition cork popular for consumer product applications.
MDF is the durable and lightweight wood that is resistant to cracking or warping. Also, it is density provides a comforting warmth and a natural look in the design.
METAL
Aluminum is very customized and flexible in term of its size depends on use. Also, it is almost always alloyed, which markedly improves its mechanical properties, especially when tempered.
Iron
Iron is commonly used for Magnet, it does not require large force to open the magnet switch.

Section 6: 3D model render

Section 7: Final physical model

Section 8: Product views
To give a better understanding to audiences, we first made a 3D model on Solidworks, and make a dissection of the VR glasses from the 3D model and list out the components. In this way, audiences are able to recognize how the VR glasses are assembly together.

Section 9: Product dimensions
To get the dimensions, we first made the 3D model on Solidworks to test out the dimensions for VR glasses.

Then, we exported a drawing file after we made the 3D model on Solidworks.

Section 10: Fabrication

Section 11: Technology
Smartphone is housed between the phone casing and front casing with the phone strap. The front casing is able to pull down by using the wood handle in the front. The phone will run a VR simulation app with the video of houses and gardens around the world.
Section 12: Form and process
The form is heavily inspired by the everyday object, standard door, which is easily to open by flipping the casing up and down. Instand of opening from right to left we make it top and bottom to fit with the human behavior when they open the door. Door also represents the key element of a home, which is related to the real estate use.
